These terms govern your use of the Purposed website and the Ellipsis Campaign. We have kept them as short and readable as possible. If you have questions, email hello@purposed.org.

Your story

When you submit a story to the Ellipsis Campaign, you keep ownership of it. You grant Purposed a licence to publish it in the Gallery, feature it in the Magazine, include it in short-form content (only if you have ticked that consent box), and use it anonymously in ERC research (only if you have ticked that consent box). You can ask us to remove your story from the Gallery at any time by emailing hello@purposed.org — we will remove it within 14 days. We cannot remove it from a Magazine issue that has already been published and distributed.

Anonymity

The anonymity level you choose at submission is permanent and travels with your story wherever it is used. An anonymous submission will never be attributed to a name in the Gallery, the Magazine, the Research Digest, short-form content, or the platform — unless you explicitly change this in writing.

What you are agreeing to when you submit

That the content is your own, or that you have the right to share it. That it does not contain information about other identifiable people who have not consented to be named. That you are 16 or older, or that you have a parent or guardian’s permission and are participating through a supervised workshop context.

What we are agreeing to

To review your submission within two weeks. To respond honestly — never with silence — whether your submission is published or not. To handle your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. To never use your story in a way you have not consented to.

Conduct

We reserve the right to decline to publish or to remove submissions that contain content that is harmful, discriminatory, or in violation of our safeguarding principles, as determined by our editorial team.

The Coalition register

When you sign the manifesto, your name appears on the public Coalition register unless you ask us not to display it. You can ask to be removed from the register at any time by emailing hello@purposed.org.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
